Our Belief

Feem Foundation was born from a simple belief that no family should have to navigate the autism journey alone. It began with one child and one family learning firsthand how much understanding, guidance, and support can matter. That experience became the heart of Feem Foundation and inspired a mission to help other families feel supported, build greater understanding of neurodiversity, and create a more inclusive and welcoming community where every child is understood for who they are and given the space to grow, thrive, and belong.

Our story

It Started With One Child

Feem Foundation began with one child, one family, and a journey that showed us how deeply understanding and support can change a life. That child is my nephew. Through him, our family entered the unfamiliar world of autism—learning to recognize his needs, navigate resources, and understand that every child experiences the world in their own way. Along the way, we also saw how easily neurodivergent children and their families can be misunderstood, especially in moments when what they need most is patience, kindness, and acceptance.

The name Feem comes from what my nephew calls me—a name that, for him, means comfort, trust, and having someone beside him when the world feels overwhelming. I wanted that same feeling to become something other families could experience too. That became the heart of Feem Foundation: helping families feel supported, connecting them with reliable resources and practical assistance, encouraging early awareness, and building communities where neurodivergent children are understood, included, and given the space to belong.

As a Registered Nurse and graduate of New York University, I value education and early support, but the heart of this mission comes from what my own family has lived and continues to learn. Our vision reaches beyond supporting individual families—we want to help create a world that chooses understanding over judgment and inclusion over expectation, where families do not have to walk this journey alone. FEEM Foundation received 501(c)(3) recognition from the IRS in 2024. Today, we support 600+ families each year, run 12+ active programs, and are strengthened by 250 dedicated volunteers. As we continue to grow, our heart remains the same: a community that shows up for each other. What began with one child has grown into a hope for many.

Mission & vision

What drives us every day

Our mission

To support neurodivergent children and their families through awareness, reliable resources, practical assistance, and community connection—while building greater understanding and acceptance of autism so every child feels seen, supported, and valued.

Our vision

A world where every neurodivergent child has the opportunity to belong, grow, and thrive—where their differences are valued, their abilities are recognized, and their families never feel alone in the journey. Beginning in New York, our vision is to carry this hope beyond our community and across borders, helping create a more understanding and inclusive world for every child.

What we stand for

Our core values

Compassion first

Every interaction begins with empathy. We meet families with understanding, without judgment, and walk alongside them at their pace.

Inclusion always

We create every program, event, and spaces to be genuinely welcoming — sensory-friendly, accessible, and affirming of every individual.

Community-driven

Our programs are shaped by the families we serve. We listen deeply, adapt constantly, and never assume we know better than the people living this journey.

Evidence-informed

We partner with researchers, clinicians, and educators to ensure our programs reflect current best practices and real-world outcomes.

Advocacy with heart

We speak up for policy change, school inclusion, and systemic reform — always centering the voices of autistic individuals and their families.

Transparency

We are accountable to our community. We are open about our work, share our outcomes, and welcome feedback at every level of our work.
